I would say they actually do care about customers, but this was just my experience. I talked with support and they were able to hook me up with a complimentary year of Prime (per my request) which makes me feel a bit better. I mean they have known about this issue for years if I am to believe the stories of others. Companies this large I assume don't listen and don't care. No matter what, eventually the application will find a way to crash. But I also have to be sure to go to another tab as soon as it returns to the download screen or else freeze-crash. If it stalls and doesn't download I've sometimes (but not consistently) been able to tab over to Download, quickly click the "Download." button (before the download tab freezes) and re-add a single subfolder to trigger the queue to process. I've learned not to keep the Download tab open for longer than a second or the app will hang. When working properly one only needs to open your Amazon cloud and drag your photos over and push them into the cloud.
